Although Jake began songwriting and performing as a high school freshman, it was several years before he began working on an album. A native of Sudbury, Canada, he had quickly established a reputation throughout Northern Ontario as an up and coming singer-songwriter. He finally joined forces with Sudbury-based producer Mike Gauthier in 2000, and recorded his debut album "I Still Believe". Bertrand's thought-provoking lyricism was on full display here, with the musical focus squarely on his rich vocals. The 20 year-old handled the tracks well, while still giving listeners the impression that this soft-rock production was a taste of much more to come.
Highlights include "Who We Are", "Fight The Fight", and "I Will Stand".
A thoughtful recording debut that earned Jake an Artistic Excellence Award in 2001 for Rising Star of the Year.

Originally released in April of 2001, now including previously unreleased remixes and demos.
